Registered Psychologist
Shaheena is a Registered Psychologist with extensive training and education in mental health. With over 8 years of experience, her focus is on children, youth, and their families to support them to overcome a variety of challenges, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, ASD and other behavioural or social challenges.
Working with families in a number of settings, Shaheena has widespread experience involving home/family life, socialization, and academic settings. With this all-inclusive view and background, Shaheena understands the impact – mood, behaviours, and socialization has on the overall functioning and inclusion of children, youth, and their families.
With the ever-evolving challenges that children and youth face today, Shaheena has chosen to focus her practice on this crucial and underserved area of mental health. In her work, she creates a non-judgemental and empathetic environment that offers the flexibility and security for children and youth to thrive in and succeed. Shaheena graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Alberta and earned her Masters in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. She also holds a diploma in Child and Youth Care from Grant MacEwan University.
In addition to Counselling and Psychotherapy, Shaheena also conducts Psychoeducational Assessments.
