Counselling Intern
Hello! I'm Jennifer Tea, an intern counselor in the final stages of completing my Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. Guiding individuals towards success and fulfillment has always been my passion. This interest, combined with a deep belief in the transformative power of empathy and support, led me to explore the complexities of human emotions and interactions.
Central to my therapeutic philosophy is the creation of a safe and supportive environment for personal discovery, self-awareness, growth and healing. I approach each session with cultural humility and sensitivity, respecting the unique experiences that shape each person's worldview. In our sessions, you'll receive empathetic guidance and support as we navigate life's challenges together. This collaborative journey aims to cultivate resilience and draw out your inherent strengths to facilitate profound transformation and healing.
My therapeutic approach is adaptable, integrating evidence-based techniques from person-centered therapy, solution-focused therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy and attachment therapy. I'm committed to tailoring our sessions meticulously to meet your unique needs and preferences.
With an interest in supporting anxiety, stress management, depression, trauma, children and youth (age 10+), my practice is inclusive and affirming. I aim to create a welcoming environment for individuals of all ages and backgrounds, whether you're dealing with relationship challenges or seeking personal growth. As a dedicated ally of the 2SLGBTQ+ community, I prioritize safety, respect, and empathy, ensuring every client feels valued and heard.
I look forward to connecting with you and supporting you on your journey towards healing and growth.
